It’s Melky Time..

I like the fact that they are bringing up the kids, but again, a new outfielder will not make any difference in a playoff run. I wish they had another Wang in the minors.

It’s Melky Time..

Damn – John beat my post by about a minute.
Yankees put Pavano on the 15 day DL today. Just in case you were wondering between Brown, Wright and Pavano, that is $30,380,953 on the DL.
In his roster spot the Yankees are bringing up rookie 20-year-old outfielder Melky Cabrera. Cabrera began [...]

Cabrera to Start in CF for Yanks Tonight

From Rob Neyer’s chat on ESPN:
Seymour, Brooklyn: Hey Rob, I just read that the Yankees have just brought up Melky Cabrera from AAA and he will start tonight in cf vs. the Indians. What kind of career do you expect from this kid?

Here’s [...]

Boston’s new closer

Here are some excerpts from an article on the subject:
Ace starter Curt Schilling is going into
Boston’s bullpen, and closer Keith Foulke is headed for the
disabled list.
In a move that will accelerate Schilling’s return to the major
leagues, and provide needed help in their bullpen, the Red Sox plan
to use the 38-year-old right-hander as a reliever [...]

Boston’s New Closer – Curt Schilling

I heard on WFAN and ESPN radio yesterday that Curt Schilling will be used as the closer for the forseeable future.
Not a bad idea on the part of Boston.
