Andy Warhol

How about this Marchese guy, the fan who muffed both HR’s last night. He made the portal screen of msn.com this morning. He describes his misses like he is up there with Bill Buckner. He will have a reality series by September. Don’t know if you liked his soup cans, but Warhol was right [...]

One down…

Apparently Colorado is shipping Preston Wilson to Washington for Zach Day and a minor leaguer. Interesting because Zach Day along with Ledee and Westbrook were traded for David Justice in 2000 which we were just talking about earlier today. There’s one less option.

Made it.

John S. and Len, welcome to the 21st century.

Made it.

This whole operation is admirably high tech. Does this mean the carbon paper copies of all our transcripts to date that I have carefully categorized by whale-oil lamp at night are now obsolete? Maybe it’s for the better, my goose quill pens are down to nubs.

Offense

I agree that the approach has been better. They are getting into better hitting counts and when that happens you will hit more HRs.
The other thing I thought about was this team has become a little more likeable since Cano, Wang and now Melky are here. In the beginning of the [...]

New Direction

I like the fact that the Yankees are introducing new, young players to the mix. I know it was done out of necessity, but it’s a new direction from the past. Too many stars do not make a team. Wang and Cano look like they can be integral parts of the team [...]

Offense.

I agree that for the most part the at bats look a little more patient. But A-Rod’s at bat in the 7th or 8th was terrible. Jeter worked the count to 3-1 and hit a Home Run opposite field. Cano predictably grounded out on the first pitch (but they are not preaching [...]

Jason Giambi – YES! in Bermuda?

If this guy isn’t back, he’s sure as hell doing a good imitation. His single to left-center is a great sign. He had an obvious ball called a strike (that ump’s strike zone was a joke) and instead of clamming up he ripped that RBI single. In my opinion, this is the biggest difference [...]

Dont Hold Your Breath..

Don’t hold your breath waiting for a David Justice type deal (the last really good in season deal completed by Cashman). As Russ pointed out the David Justice deal was a stroke of luck by Cashman. Like Russ said, he was calling about where to send a WS ring and said…”So what’s up?” [...]

Offense

Len and I were talking about the offense this morning. It is interesting that they are hitting home runs, but it really doesn’t look like they are trying to hit HR’s. I see good at bats up and down the order. I use A-Rod as an example: Weeks ago, [...]
