Let’s be real about something. If I have to hear one more yankee-apologist-butt kissing-brown nosing-joe torre loving member(s) of the media/broadcast team say what a fantastic job Joe Torre is doing this year, I’m going to vomit in Tom Gordon’s bucket. Somehow because the Yankees have injuries this year and are 5 games out, we should be congratulating Torre. That seems to overloook something.

Let’s review:

Who has the highest payroll in baseball. Not by a little, but by alot. The 5 games that Mike just mentioned are only in the last month. That doesn’t include the Mets series in June, it doesn’t include the sweep in Kansas City, or dropping 3 o4 to Tampa in early May. I know much of that is on the players, but why are the players listless? Why are they not playing hard at times? I’m not picking on him, but why is Cano unprepared in sacrifice situations? Oh, and by the way HE’S THE HIGHEST PAID MANAGER IN BASEBALL! He makes 6 mill a year for the next two years. No other manager in baseball history has enjoyed the contract he has. I know much of that is for seasons past, but when you get 6 mill you should be able to match wits with Terry Francona in the ALCS, and not start Mussina in game…. oh forget it, we’ve been down that road before.

So the next time you listen to ‘ol Sterling kiss Joe’s butt on the radio manager’s show, remember, HE’S THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN! Where have you gone, Steve Austin, our nation turns its lonely eyes to you. Woo woo woo. What’s that you say John Sterling, the Bionic Man has left and gone away, Hey hey hey. Now I’m really groggy, it’s Friday afternoon!
