Now that I think about it, another example for Cone was the slightly turned head (usually to the right) and he would actually say: “Oh come on, Tim.” (for Tim Tschida) or insert Umpire’s first name. Cone was one of the few pitchers I know who would directly speak to the umpires, “Where was that one” or “Where do you want it” that sort of thing.
