I saw that early this morning. Bellhorn is marginal player. Anyone who paid attention last year knows that Bellhorn’s success in the ALCS was due more to the poor Yankees pitching than anything Bellhorn did. He’s not good defensively, he’s not fast, and he strikes out way too much. I mean the level of insult that Tony Womack has had to endure this year is incredible. Womack is better than Bellhorn, and because of Womack’s ability to bunt, it makes that much more valuable. But what do I know?

Small maybe this year’s Ramiro Mendoza.

Giambi is timing his second hot streak of the season just right. Between Giambi and Tino, it’s amazing the production we’ve gotten out of first base. It’s much more than I thought.

I am disappointed in Mussina. I think we have to “call him out.” Now is not the time to sulk on the mound when you do not get a strike call. This time of year requires a mental toughness to work through that and try to pitch to an individual umpire’s zone. I know he can be mentally tougher than he has shown.
