Well August 31st is here. From the time they started this run against Texas they are 14-5. I wanted them to be 14-6 but I’m greedy. I want 15-5. It is appropriate that Randy Johnson take the mound for this pivotal game. Everyone knows what we need: A dominating performance. 2 hit shutout over 8 innings with 10 Ks. Hand the ball to Mo. Scratch out a couple of runs and have a 2 hr. 20 minute game.

A word about the rotation. I’m not that concerned about Mussina. According to him, this inflammation is normal this time of year. However, Joe and Mel feel that the inflammation is affecting him. Fortunately, with the six starters now (who would have thought that a month ago), Moose can sit out a turn and give Smalley a start.

Chacon threw what might have been history’s worst pitch to Ichiro on the 3 run homer. I’m not worried about him.

By the way, Bellhorn is terrible.
