If I’m the Big Unit

If I’m Randy, tomorrow I leave it all out on the field. Everything I got. Every fastball is 97. And if the slider is flat, I don’t throw it. Just fastballs as hard as I can, even if I run out of gas in the 6th. I also knock down [...]

Oh, I’ll tell you who’s clutch

Shawn Chacon. After last night’s debacle, the Yanks have me worrying that after winning the first two games of a four game set, they are endanger of splitting the series. That would be a disaster at this time of year. Today was definitely a “must win” and maintain that 14-6 pace I’ve [...]

Western Union

Time to send a message to our bumbling backstop. Posada is playing these games like he is under serious sedation. No emotion, spark. He has awful AB’s where his only motivation seems to be to get it over with. Bat him ninth and send a message, Torre.

It’s Groundhog Day!!!

Is it me or does it always seem to be 6:30 on Groundhog Day? Didn’t we see last nights game before? Hasn’t this already played out like this about 60 times already this season? Another Moose Meltdown. A replay of the Cleveland game. I was ticked that Joe took [...]

By the way…

By the way, I forgot to mention this because I was focused on Mussina. Why is Matusi batting 2nd? Why is Joe messing around with him? Stop! Someone stop the madness please! I was so fixated on Mussina, Mike T. called me and said “is Matusi hitting 2nd?” I [...]

What the…

By those accounts, I would say Boston games 3, 7 and 10 (and that’s probably being kind).
This team is ridiculus. Everytime they have a big dramatic win they do this. Because it’s baseball, I’m a sucker and I want to believe.
Anyway, I believe Mussina unraveled in the 5th because [...]

Go back to Whore Island!

John, if you come up with another reason why I should drink the Sheffield Kool-Aid and admit he is “The Man” on this team, I will come up to wherever you are and “Bring it”.
The purpose of my post was to note how clutch Matsui is and how Sheffield isnt. I also acknowledge [...]

Perception

The bottom line is that the perception is that A-Rod is horrible in the clutch – and he isn’t.
Eveyone knows that I despise Sheffield and can’t wait for him to go…but…since we’re talking about guys producing when it counts…check out Sheffield’s numbers vs. Boston. His OPS is 1.317!! Only 4Ks.

King of Klutch

Temendous research. This type of research appeals to Mike T.’s affinity for detail. Anyway, I did learn something from this: A-Rod is not horrible in the clutch. .295 is not bad. It’s just that we are comparing him to someone who is “off the charts.” The King of Clutch [...]

John I Disagree.

If you have been watching the games, which I know you have, you know, as well as everyone else, that Sheffield has not been “clutch” when it really matters. Name a game that he won with a late game hit. Go Ahead name one. It will be easier to name a game [...]
