BREAKING NEWS

The Yankees have picked up the 2nd year option on Kim Jones, YES beat reporter.
However, she will not be leading off the post game press conference with any questions of Joe Torre in 2006.

Christmas Time

At this time of year, one Jesus comes, another Jesus is taken away:

The Big O

No, not Oscar Robertson, or any suggestive O either. In a Johnny Damon hair story, Page D1 of the NY Times today has a picture of Oscar Gamble’s Afro while he was with the Indians before joining Yanks. I referred to it in some prior posting. It scrapes the ionosphere, amazing. More fly [...]

A word about Brian Cashman

I just wanted to mention Brian Cashman’s performance this winter. After a couple of seasons where there were some shaky moves, Brian has made a nice comeback in 2005. Obviously we’ll never really know who was behind some of the moves over the past couple of years (George, the Tampa “braintrust” or Brian [...]

Bernie

Good. I thought he would get $2 million, but that’s fine. I agree, I’m happy with the moves this off season (manager excluded). They’ve tried with the bullpen (hardest part of the team to put together) and they got their CF without giving away Cano, Wang or Chacon for that matter. [...]

Bernie

This morning I heard that The Yankees and Bernie came to terms on a one year deal worth $1.5 Million to DH along with Giambi. Phillips will be playing 1st when Giambi DH’s. On the Damon signing, I am very happy that the Yankees did not go beyond 4 years. I could [...]

Damon A Yankee

Every off season has its own ups and downs. The way this offseason was going, it was apparent that other teams in the league were not willing to deal with the Yankees fairly. They were asking too much for players who: a) were on the last year of their deals; b) unproven prospects; [...]

Damon

I think Damon is fairly likeable, and hopefully talented enough to beat out Bubba Crosby for the CF slot. Condolences to Bubba. Damon showed a lot of ego in the interview clips I heard- “best lead off hitter in the game” . Now he will have to back it up. He [...]

Damon a Yankee

Hey… I’d much rather have Damon on the team than Nomar.
(maybe Damon can have a son named “Nomad.”)
Damon was one of a few Red Sox that I don’t hate. Others include Wakefield and Ortiz. I wouldn’t mind having Ortiz as our DH.

DAMON A YANKEE

Read about it here.
If they didn’t get Damon, Patterson was to be a Yankee….which had a lot to do with why Damn will be wearing pinstripes.
I hate Damon.
