Yes, this tournament has little value to American baseball other than the money it may generate.

However, I love watching baseball. The fact that I am going to be able to watch competitive baseball this time of year is a bonus for me. Once the NFL playoffs have ended, there isn’t much that interests me other than college basketball. I wouldn’t blink an eye if the NHL went on eternal strike. I don’t know anyone that cares about the NBA. So, I welcome the WBC.
