Even though I dislike the idea of the WBC, I agree that it will occur at a time of the year when I will be craving baseball – any baseball. I am one of the few people who derive great pleasure and have great interest in watching/listening to spring training games. And, I confess – I will probably watch the championship game for the WBC probably out of curiosity and the fact that there will be nothing else on. This is why I got into hockey several years ago – to pass the time after football until baseball starts. I only get into college basketball during the Tournament which doesn’t fill me up. And I admit, hockey is an acquired taste but it’s pretty good once you get into it and become familiar with it – despite the sport’s attempts to “blow itself up.”
