Let me go on record that I want the Yankees to get Mike. I know he is only a DH, but his presence in the lineup could make a hugh difference, especially if Bernie falters, which is quite possible.

My reasons. My decision is based on Giambi playing first base for most of the games since that is what he wants to do and perfoms best when he plays in the field. I believe that Mike will hit well with the rest he will get by not playing in the field and will benefit from a much stronger lineup than he had last year. In addition, I don’t want Piazza to go to a contending team, which would cause the Yankees problems in key series during the yaer amd most especially in the playoffs. In short, I don’t wanat the competition getting him, and we all know that he must go to a contending American League team.

By signing him the Yankees could further stick it to the Mets in the NYC PR war. Honestly, I think he could help the Yankees.

I hope and believe that he will be offered a contract by the Yankees.
