One thought here: If Gene Michael is truly back in the consulting fold, and Cashman has authority – I can see this happening. The Astros need a first baseman (Duncan) and they’re not going anywhere anyway, they won’t be inclined to pay Andy the $$$ for a new deal.

The Andy Pettitte to the Yankees rumors continue to swirl. I’m not sure how this would make any sense for the Astros. While Andy certainly isn’t free from risk of injury, I’d much rather have him in the rotation than Wright or Pavano.
