My Christmas stocking was Yankee friendly. Joel Sherman’s book on the 1996 Yankees, Birth of a Dynasty. Also,a  nicely bound tabloid size book of reproduced Daily News Yankee historic stories, Babe to 2006, as they originally appeared.

And the show stopper, a personal handwritten 2006 Christmas greeting on one side of a bi-fold frame, with the other side a picture of the author, Goose Goosage. The picture was taken in a Manhattan bar, with one other person in the photo. My daughter. The only superficial baseball fan in my family, she first had to call my son to see if Gossage “was anybody”. Happy New Year.
