I agree.  These moves are bigger than Clemens and are designed to be able to acquire quality major league caliber pitching.  Whether that can be Santana is speculative.  Yes all of those things are true.  It is too early to predict where he will end up but the thought process is solid: Stock pile young pitching to be traded for a proven commodity.  Clemens is very short term- which is why it only bothers me a little.  Santana could find himself in a bidding war between the Yankees and Red Sox (after Schilling retires – however historically left handed pitching does not work in Fenway but I concede that Santana is an exceptional left hander).Â
