Interesting Quote.

Buster Olney writes that Cano is a young player to watch in 2007 and potentially on track for a “monster season”.  Noting that his average down the stretch was phenomenal and in 122 games Cano still managed 41 doubles.  I tend to agree that Cano is a player to watch and as noted by Len, [...]

Masher Mentality….

As Spring training is still several weeks away and as we sit in these dark days of winter, ponder these thoughts as you question who are really the contributors to this team….. Since the dreaded Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS the following are the batting lines for the “regulars” in those final three games and [...]

In a Perfect World….

My Lineup would be  1. Jeter, 2. Abreu, 3. Rodriguez, 4. Giambi, 5. Cano, 6. Posada, 7. Matsui, 8. Cabrerra, Mietkievicz, Phillips, 9. Damon.  Why, because Damon’s OBP is really not that great and Jeter, Abreu, Rodriguez and Giambi (and Posada) are OBP machines and should be at the top.  Mix in Cano for a little added power.   Damon at [...]

It’s very lefthanded heavy, but this year with this group, I don’t think there’s anyway around it.  [...]
