MIKE G – DO NOT READ THIS POST “24″ DISCUSSION FOLLOWS!!!

This weekend I was watching TV and saw reruns of 24 Season 3 on TV55.  The Biohazard season.  Anyway, Wayne Palmer is President Palmer’s Chief of Staff and they are discussing the threat.  The terrorists want the president to say “The sky is falling” in a press conference or they will unleash more of the virus.  Wayne goes through the whole “we can’t negotiate with terrorists” or “this could be a code word to start more attacks” speech.  But President Palmer tells Wayne that they have no choice but to give in to the terrorist’s demands because he will kill most people in America.  He says it will buy them more time to track down the people responsible.  Wayne is against it.  In the next hour, the terrorists want the President to order the death of a CTU agent.  Palmer is initially against the idea because he doesn’t want terrorists to dictate his actions.  Yet Wayne defends the idea and says they should consider killing the CTU agent to protect lives etc.  Guess what happens, Palmer orders Jack to kill the CTU agent and dump the body where he is instructed.  Jack complies with the request.  I think these scenes sets up Wayne’s wussy response and agreement to negotiate with the terrorists in Season 6.  Â
