Great stuff on Mattingly, boys.  Truth is the new stadium will never be the old stadium, no matter who the manager is.  One era will be gone and another will begin.  If the Yankees win in 2009, a new mystique will be created. There is more Yankee lore with Mattingly and less with Girardi.  Who will be the better manager?  We really don’t know.  Girardi has a head start, but who knows, with the right players either one could win it all.  It’s probably more in Cashman’s hands than the manager’s.
