I am tired of hearing about Roger Clemens.  He retired from the Yankees four years ago.  Give it a rest.  The Yankees are not the Astros or the Red Sox.  They don’t make concessions for ballplayers just because they are good, or great.  Bringing Clemens back would be a huge mistake, in my opinion.  Preferential treatment for him would disrupt the chemistry of the “team.”  Anyway, I believe that he would be knocked around in the American League, just as he was when he left the Yankees.  I would rather lose without him than win with him.

I heard Mattingly on ESPN with Michael Kay yesterday afternoon and it’s clear than he is not ready for the prime time.  He has much to learn about handling delicate questions, like succession to the current manager, who just announced he wants to come back for at least another year.

Predictions for 2007: The Yankees must hit and score 1,000 runs to win the division because of a delicate pitching staff.  And that’s Ok with me because all of he teams have a dearth of starting pitching.   This means that A-Rod has to more than pull his weight during the season and post season play.  The other key players must also have good years and Rivera must stay healthy all year.

With reagard to Swindal, that drunk driving arrest cost him big time.Â
