ESPN/F.U.
by John SDon’t worry I’m not being obscene, this post is thematically consistent. Keep reading.Â
A-Rod has had his problems post-season. I have not been a big fan of his generally. This week, you dare not miss one of his AB’s because you are watching greatness. Let’s live in the moment, because A-Rod’s recent moments are nothing short of Ruthian.
Another topic – Willie Randolph will be commencement speaker at Fordham University (F.U.) next month. (His daughter is graduating). That works for me since I planned to attend my son’s graduation anyway! No boring businessman or academic hack speaking – it’s like I won a commencement-speaking lottery !!

Fordham tends to get decent graduation speakers. For my sister Krissy’s graduation in 2000, they had Vin Scully, for my wife Jeanne’s graduation in 2003 they had Ted Koppel. Here are some of the recent speakers.
Chris Matthews, Host of MSNBC’S Hardball, 2006
John Sexton, New York University President, 2005
Tim Russert, NBC’s Meet the Press, 2004
Ted Koppel, ABC Nightline, 2003
Gerald Levin, Former CEO AOL Time Warner, 2002
Bill Cosby, Actor, Comedian 2001
Vin Scully, HOF Broadcaster, Los Angeles Dodgers, 2000
George Mitchell, Former US Senator, 1999
