Bad loss, good signs
by LenI sat silently as well, and then turned to another channel. Mo was not sharp, probably because he pitched about 16 hours earlier. I was a little surprised Joe had him pitch the ninth inning.
Wow, two more on the disabled list and three of the four starters on the DL. Adversity brings success and I like the idea that some new blood will have to be utilized to replace Pavano and Mussina. By the way, I don’t expect much from Mussina, who I believe is way past his prime.
I agree with the comment about the slow footed Doug M. He would have been safe with a better slide.
How about some good news. Andy looked great and gave the Yankees what they needed given the pen was spent for two nights. His acquisition/signing makes management look smart, but it also makes them look stupid given that they gave up on him four years ago. Remember, Kevin Browne and Randy were acquired because Andy was not signed (a low ball offer). Imagine if Andy was on the team the past three years instead on those two.
Let’s not forget that A-Rod almost put the game out of reach with a three run homer in the eight, instead of a just sac fly. He is having good at bats and seems to be more at ease this year. I believe that he must have a monster year for the Yankees to win, given the sore arms.
