What an All-American name. If Solomon P. Chase had married Wilbur or Orville Wright. And he has a Major League win and permanent place in the Baseball Encyclopedia. Nice.

To digress (don’t I always). There was a kid in my high school named Wright. The English teacher one year was a very weird guy. There was an empty seat behind Wright, we sat alphabetically, so he invented an imaginary student, Michael Wyatt. He filled out tests and homework for weeks for “Wyatt”. The teacher finally asked the front office about Wyatt, thereby looking ridiculous. The last I saw the hoax perpetrator, my Mr. Wright, was on TV. He was commenting on a murder, he was a police chief in Jersey. Guess he went straight. 

As I write my son is on-line to buy bleacher seats for tonight’s game for him and his friends. Youth is inversely proportional to the need for comfort.
