Triple Bad Move.

Bringing in Meyers.   I didn’t have a chance to post this in time, Jeanne called me in the midst of my thoughts.  In the interim, Crawford Just hit a grand slam.  The correct choice would have been Henn.  Meyers should be sent to the Minors.  He’s awful!!!!
So much for the chance to win a game by scoring [...]

Double Bad move.

Having Vizcaino (I guy with controll trouble) intentionally walk Baldelli to load the bases.  Vizcaino immediately falls behind to Harris 2-0, gets a called strike to make it 2-1, foul ball 2-2, ball 3-2.  Cairo makes a great play to catch a line drive.  Joe got lucky.

I’m on Record…

Torre Just brought in Vizcaino with 2nd and 3rd 1 out.  This is a bad move.

Diverticulitis

Ken Griffey Jr. is on the DL with?????? Yup, you guessed it: Diverticulitis
Anyone up for some General Tso’s chicken????

Sterling and Waldman.

Are Awful.  They got to go.

I’m Gonna Bring this Up Again.

Someone needs to throw at David Ortiz in this next series.  Wright should have done it in the 3rd on Sunday.  A-Rod had been hit.  Jeter was hit.  Everyone is saying, Dice K didn’t mean it, he’s just trying to learn how to throw inside.
Funny thing is, how come everyone knows that Jeter and A-Rod get [...]

Dump Torre

No, no, no.  I don’t want anyone killing themselves….. the Revolution may be over, but we can still have peace, love and understanding.  Good folk song reference.
I will take a look at the team for the next two weeks.  Perhaps Wang (and Mussina’s) return along with (fingers crossed) a good start from Hughes will energize [...]

Oh yeah

Laura Nyro, she was from the Janis Ian “Let’s write incredibly depressing songs and then want to kill ourselves” school of folk music. Your approach is more life affirming, Joe G.
How about Hendrix’s version of “Hey, Joe”. The line “where you going with that gun in your hand”. For Russ, it is with the hope [...]

Goodbye Joe

With apologies to the Artist: Laura Nyro
You were lost on the bench and on the field, good bye, Joe,
With no clue using your bullpen and pinch runners, good bye, Joe.
Time is full of changes and now you’ve got to go.
Don’t forget that we loved you in the nineties, good bye, Joe.
Good bye, Joe, yes, we [...]

Where would we be without A-Rod’s hot start?

Mike T, good analysis.  Consider what would the Yankees record be if A-Rod had a normal start to the season?  Maybe Joe would be on the hot seat more than he now is.
You can blame the lack of good starting pitching for the losses but Joe looks like he is lost.  He won’t lose his job [...]
