Ok, so we didn’t get swept. I feel so much better.  A few questions need to be asked:

Why can Wang only go like 85 pitches.  I know it’s a long season, and you want to be careful, but he had a hamstring injury, not an arm injury.  Why can’t he go to 100?

Why is Abreu bunting in the 6th inning? He’s our $16 million right fielder, right?  Why are we giving up outs in the middle of the order.  And as Mike correctly pointed out during the game, leaving first base open so A-Rod can be walked.  While we’re the subject of Abreu…where is it written that he has to hit 3rd?  Where?  Why are we so married to the fact that Abreu is our number three hitter?  A-Rod goes into a funk (previous years) and he gets moved to 5th, to 2nd, and in the playoffs, he even hit 8th? Why does Abreu get to hit third no matter what?  Why can’t Matusi or Giambi hit 3rd?  Why can’t Abreu hit 5th or 6th?  I mean, I’ve given up on the lineup issue, but I’m sitting there looking at a $16 million right fielder and he’s got one HR and a handful of RBIs, hitting behind Damon and Jeter and hitting ahead of A-Rod who had a historic month.

Why didn’t Joe have Bruney ready to go in the 8th, when Sean Henn failed to get Ortiz out.  Bruney should have been ready to go at the start of the inning.  When Henn fails to retire Ortiz then Bruney has to come in to face Manny.  Not Sean Henn that’s asking for trouble.  That really bothered me.  I don’t know what is wrong with him.  I don’t know what the specific numbers are but you can throw them out.  How many times has Bruney actually faced Manny?  Maybe they lose anyway, but is Joe sleeping in there?  Bruney has to be ready to face Manny.

Can anyone answer these questions?  Â
