That told a lot, very nice Mike G. You may have bittersweet memories, but bittersweet memories of baseball are better than a lot of other memories. It seems you were not well versed in some of the basic rules of the game, I’d say that was your father’s fault(!). I can relate to the “one-hit wonder” aspect of your story… I played one year after Little League, in whatever the next level is called, Babe Ruth maybe. In that year I lost whatever swing or batting timing I had and amassed just one hit for the entire season, same as yourself. This is starting to look like True Confessions … anyone else have any personal real life sports moments where you were looking for a hole to hide in?
