We Can’t Get Enough of Wang!
by Russ7 innings. 1 Run. He just goes out there in workmanlike fashion and tosses those sinkers which get pounded into the turf. Occasionally, one gets up and it gets hit hard, but for the most part – he’s on a roll. Take that Webb! Anyway, we didn’t pick up any ground but just keep it going. I’d like to see Mussina straighten himself out and gain some consistency. And I didn’t listen to the radio but I’m sure Sterling went nuts on Abreu’s HR. He’s in the zone right now and it’s amazing what a complete 180 he’s done. I’m still not a big fan, but as long as he keeps the batting order going in the right direction, I’ll stay quiet. I guess it’s Clemens, Clippard and Wang this weekend against the Mets, who are in crisis mode right now. It’s amazing that when we last played the Mets, it was our team that was in crisis mode. But as Sterling would say: “That’s baseball. Who can figure this game out?” Â
File this under the “Disturbing” file. Mike and the Dog interviewed Gene Michael while at Yogi Berra’s golf outing on Monday and Stick basically said he is rarely consulted. Maybe he’s been called once or twice by Cashman. What are they nuts? If there was a Hall of Fame for talent evaluators, he would be in it. He wants to be involved, what the hell is wrong with Cashman. Gene Michael is exactly the kind of guy, Cashman should be talking to on a consistent basis. He also said that if another team wanted him and put up some cash, he would go. That makes me nervous.Â
