Back in the good ole days we used to “unfairly” refer to Mike Stanton as the Gascan, because we felt he would ignite relief situations.  Apparently Scott Proctor has taken that to a new level.  When your relievers are burning their equipment, When relievers are visibly upset on the mound with the fielding of position players, When your all-star catcher is questioning the effort on the field of players, there is something wrong.  And that something is usally tied to the manager.  Joe must go.

By the way Buster Olney said the following concerning the Yankees post-season chances….

Yankees are still hanging on by their fingernails. N.Y.’s last shot to contend comes after the All-STar break — 28 straight games against Tampa Bay, Toronto, White Sox, Baltimore and Kansas City. They need to win 20-22 of those to make a run, and if it doesn’t happen, then they’re probably dead.

I agree with that assessment.
