The Roundtable is quiet…..  but if you listen carefully you can hear it – off in the distance……  a dull rumbling which get incrementally louder ever so slightly.  Off in the distance you can hear a whistle blowing……..the sound is so faint you can hardly make it out….. until it hits you ! It’s a train!  That’s right, it’s the Yankee Mania Express and it’s coming baby! A-Rod went 0 for 4 but you’ll notice last night the lefties which have become the subject of much criticsim all went 2 for 5.  And the lineup produced.  The seesaw is coming back down the other way. Wang did what he had to do.  With a big lead, you just want to throw strikes so I’m not concerned with 4 runs in 6 innings. Cleveland loses again and now it’s 4 games in the loss column for the wild card. But we need to keep up the pressure!

Two important things:

1) We will be watching Mussina’s start tonight with much interest.  He’s on the hot seat as far as I’m concerned.

2) Phillip Hughes pitched 6 shutout innings last night.  Let him start on Sunday!  They have already been committed to bringing him up so it seems that he has built up enough strength.  Let him go Sunday against Baltimore.  Don’t let Igawa go out there again, please! And maybe Karstens should take Mussina’s spot.  Look, I’m realistic, I don’t think he’ll take his spot permanently but maybe you can convince Mussina to skip a turn or something.  Maybe a phantom stint on the DL.  He’s killing us.
