I didn’t disagree with using Joba in the 7th.  The heart of the order was up and I didn’t want to risk Hughes facing those guys again.  What I did disagree with was using Joba in the 8th.  There are other guys in the pen.  Use them.  The fact that Torre may have fired all his Joba bullets last night may be a costly error.  The saving grace was that Mo was so fired up that he only used 10 pitches (8 strikes) to finish off the 9th.

  • Sizemore – Strike (swinging), Ball, Fly out to Left
  • Cabrera - Ball, Stike (looking), Strike (foul), Strike (swinging)
  • Hafner – Strike (looking), Strike (looking), Strike (looking)

Talk about dominating. By the way – Rivera’s post-season stats are approaching the ridiculous.

  • 92 Ks, 16 BB, 70 hits
  • 0.74 WHIP, 5.75 K/BB ratio, 7.2 K/9 innings

For Comparison.  Mr Greatest Closer Ever (Trevor Hoffman) post season stats….
