1. Posada will not sign with the Mets.  He stays a Yankee. 2 years $26Million with team option for 2010 for $14M (guaranteed with games caught/plate appearances etc.)  Russ has the right feel for the value.
  2. Rivera.  I’ve commented on this before.  He stays.  1 Year guaranteed $11M with easily reachable 2nd and 3rd year options at $11M and $12M respectively.
  3. A-Rod.  I’m on Record extension proposal 6 year $150M extension, $10M signing bonus, 2 additional option years guaranteed with performance incentives at $18M per year.  With the $81 still on table it is an 11 year deal $277M ($25.2M average per year).
  4. Wang – No disagreement.  He needs to toughen up.
  5. Torre – Sneaking suspicion that he actually may survive this AGAIN.  If he is axed.  He ends up an analyst for ESPN, commutes from Harrison to Bristol and takes a year or two to recharge.
  6. LaRussa – Not the Yankee Manager.  This story is the product of his agent spinning this story to try to land the job.
  7. Roundtable – A tough place for the next month.  Especially if Boston advances.  Once Free-Agent time starts. It will get very interesting.
  8. Jeter – Continues his HOF career. Is disgruntled if Torre is not the Manager. Deals with it.
  9. Pettitte – Excercises his option.  Stays with the Yankees.
  10. 2008 Yankees – Rotation of Pettitte, Wang, Chamberlain, Hughes, Kennedy, Mussina.  Infield - Giambi/Mientkiewicz, Cano, Jeter, A-Rod.  Outfield – Damon LF, Cabrerra CF, Abreu RF. C – Posada/Molina.  Wins AL East.   Â
