Yankee
by Mike GPettitte statements:
“The New York Yankees committed an awful lot of money to me and put it in my hands, gave me a player option and trusted me with that option. It probably wouldn’t be real honorable for me not to do anything other than if I shut it down, shut it down or go back and play for the New York Yankees.”
“I’ve got to figure out in my own mind exactly what I want to do. I know a lot of speculation is out there as far as with [Torre] losing the job and stuff like that — what effect it would have — but the Yankees gave me the contract. That’s the organization that has committed to me, and it won’t have any bearing.”

Nice Job with the reporting Mike. Andy is an honorable guy. All that Power for Living stuff. I can’t see him turning down a player option only to become a free agent and sign somewhere else. Andy’s got more class than that. Andy is no A-Rod.
