It’s getting rough out there; Hubris
by John BI agree. Definitely sour grapes. Borass is definitely worried. The last thing he wants is for A-Rod to get less than or anything equal to the Yankees offer. What if no team is willing to go to $25 million? That would be a complete failure for Boras.
Opting out of the richest contract baseball has ever seen may turn out to be an historic blunder. It’s not like Soriano or someone else got a better contract and salaries were still on a steep upward trend. The highest paid player wants to be paid even more!?!?!
Alex, you’re the best player in the game. And you’re the highest paid player.
I definitely think Selig is leaning on some of these clubs by virtue of sharing his displeasure in how Boras and A-Rod have handled themselves. AND…I think ownership is tired of Boras’ games.
Like I said, I hope he rots unsigned for a year. It would be like both of them to take the “cut off your nose to spite your face” attitude. Wouldn’t surprise me at all. Too much pride and ego: hubris.
