My feeling is that there is tremendous risk paying a pitcher that much money over several years. Johan did not have a great year in 2007 and it may be indicative of the beginninig of arm problems. The other risk is that Boston acguires him and makes a great team even better.

What are everyone’s feelings on Santana? I’m sure everyone will want him but at what price? Does everyone feel comfortable giving up Phil Hughes and then paying him anywhere from 130 to 150 million?  Â
