The Oklahoman
Feb. 29–Former major league baseball star Bobby Murcer, who underwent brain tumor surgery 14 months ago, will face another health hurdle Monday. The Oklahoma City native will return to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston to have a brain biopsy. An MRI on Tuesday showed an area that concerned doctors. [...]

I think Hughes maybe slated to go 180-190 innings. I think we’ll have to see how the season goes.Â
As far as Hiliary goes…. she has run one of the worst campaigns in recent memory. But, sometimes the best campaigners aren’t always the best Presidents, and vice versa. Whatever your opinion of her this has been [...]

If Hughes is limited to 140 innings, he may not win 14 games. The Yanks will need six quasi-regular pitchers to contribute wins this season. Kei Igawa will win 13 games… and Hillary will win the nomination. Yeah right!

Read this morning some Mussina comments on his status. He was grateful to be allowed to try out for a starting rotation slot. That’s a paraphrase but that was the message. That seems rather modest. Maybe these new arms are the real thing and Moose sees his future as cloudy.
As to win projection, is Girardi [...]

I agree on Hughes. I’m trying to contain my enthusasim for him.Â
Wang needs another pitch to keep hitters honest. There’s no question in my mind that if he can [...]

I would generally agree with the numbers you have there. I have a feeling that Hughes may become the #2 starter this year. That being behind #1 Pettitte (see below). I’m hoping for 15+ wins out of him. I’m very optomistic.
I have had a bad feeling about Wang since early September [...]

How does everyone feel about it? It’s early in spring but is it unreasonable to assume the following:
Wang – 18 victories; Pettitte – 15 victories, Hughes – 14 victories, Kennedy – 10 victories, Mussina – 10 victories = 67.
They only got like 62 or 63 victories out of their rotation last year.Â
But, you figure slight [...]

The AP reports the Rays are considering Barry Bonds for 2008. The team dropped the “Devil” from its name, but now they want to hire him.

Not the usual suspects: sex, greed, corruption, etc.  Hubris -Pride. Take that through to the Bible, pride cometh before the fall.
Roger Clemens is the equivalent of an ancient Greek king, sports version. If Congress goes though with prosecution, this has all the elements of Greek tragedy, except without Roger dying literally. In Greek tragedy, the protagonist usually [...]
