OK, we have Mussina, who usually keeps his mouth shut, opining on Pettitte’s having to face the media. At best, Pettitte is way behind his now non-substance abusing off-season training regimen. Mussina is old, he can outthink hitters for a few innings but a 82 mile an hour fastball is no longer major league caliber. He may embarass himself this year. Maybe Mike should just worry about himself.

We have Wang, who is ticked he did not get a long term contract. Granted, his post-season was awful, but where would the Yanks have been without him the last two years. The Hank Steinbrenner era apparently is being more conservative, there are risks and benefits to that. Hope Wang can take a joke.

And just last week Pavano’s name came up. I refuse to comment on the probability of any innings coming from there. For the cancer he would be to a clubhouse, any minor contribution would be outweighed by the fact he is a moron.
