Did anybody mention…

Pettitte throwing up and in to Big Papi yesterday.  Jeter got hit with a pitch, and Pettitte threw high and tight to Ortiz.  This is definitely an area where Girardi’s presence is for the better.  And having a veteran like Pettitte do it, is great because it sets the tone for the younger guys.  I [...]

Watch for Free!

The Yankees are playing at Virginia Tech today (3:00pm) and mlb.tv is broadcasting the game for free.  You don’t need an account to watch the game.  Go to yankees.com for the link.

Spring Stats….

From ESPN…. Best part.  Look at the 7th player from the bottom.  Thought the Billy thing was a bit of a joke.  Why does Billy Crystal get to live out his dream but you or I don’t?  Isn’t that what fantasy camp is for?   I heard that Jeter helped orchestrate this thing.  Well…Ok. I guess.  [...]

And…

Forgot, happy St. Patrick’s day. As the only Mick-American Roundtabler, I’ll accept questions on the rules of Gaelic football and hurling today only. (Not the kind of hurling being practiced in the restrooms of bars on Second Avenue right about now).

Hard to focus

Just watched the Paterson swearing-in, he can really toss off good one-liners, which should be helpful in the joke that is NYS government. Obama-Clinton, Spitzer, Bear Stearns, March Madness, Collapsing Cranes. One thing after another to distract from Yankee World. The last opening day at the Stadium approaches, it will take a lot to kick [...]

You’re in mid-season form!

I like it!  We are getting ready!
I didn’t think anything was wrong with the silde (last week).  I don’t like Duncan going in with spikes up in an exhibition game.  However, I have no problem with Girardi sticking up for his players.  Getting mad at the slide last week.  That’s what manager’s do.  I thought [...]

and another thing

I have no problem with this.

Yankees ‘ Billy Crystal waves to the crowd after striking out during the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Tampa

One more thing

I heard Craig Carton on WFAN say this morning that Girardi should tell the press today that he reviewed the tape of Duncan’s slide and he didn’t like what he saw so he talked to Duncan.  BULL.  Girardi should continue to stick up for his players.  If asked, he should say – I didn’t see [...]

My take

The sports media has been all over Girardi for making a big deal about the play at home and the broken wrist. It wasn’t a dirty play… that’s how to play the game… the kid is trying to make the team so he’s playing hard… blah, blah, blah.
Girardi’s reaction had nothing to do with all [...]

Schilling on 60 day DL; Beckett stays home for Japan trip

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.  Things are quiet….. we need discussion!
