Cashman – Next Steps

I agree on what you outlined Russ. One of the other things that Cashman and his scouts need to be watching are the playoffs. Specifically keeping an eye on Texeira, Sabathia, Lowe.
I read somewhere today that Jake Peavey will most likely be dealt in the offseason.

Cashman – next steps

Fans are thinking about the big ticket items obviously, and for good reason. Now that Cashman is in place – while the playoffs are going on, I think the following has to be worked on.
Organizational meetings. Meet with Joe, Oppenheimer (amateur scouting), Director of professional scouting and others to go over the [...]

Cashman – Next Steps

So, what are some of the first things Cashman needs to do in preparation for 2009? Let’s open this up to The Table.

Cashman

Joe, good assessment of Cashman. Overall, he’s a good GM, and like many GMs he will make his share of bad moves. I think the idea that Cashman can impact the team greatly and therefore makes him want to be here is accurate (the money doesn’t hurt either). I have often been [...]

Cashman

I guess I’m happy that Cashman will be back. I’d rather it be Cashman than some Steinbrenner puppet.
I’ll watch the playoffs. I will root for the Angels and Rays in the AL. I’d like to see Torre make it as far as possible…just to stick it to Hank. So, I’ll root for the underdog [...]

Cashman

I think the Cashman signing was good, and an easier decision for Cashman than many believed. Cashman is on a mission to build another Yankee dynasty. Even though he has been the GM since 1998, he doesn’t get credit for building the 90’s dynasty. That was Gene Michael. Watson and Showalter. He has [...]

Playoffs

Correct. The trashing of the Mets can go on for only so long….
I watched “Baseball Tonight” to catch the highlights of the Chisox – Twins game. Excellent throw by Griffey. At the time of his trade – the “experts” were negative as to Griffey’s ability to play CF. I figured [...]

Playoffs

Caught last 3 innings of White Sox-Twins. Thome’s HR was classic, long and deep stright as an arrow right up the middle of center field. Only saw Griffey’s throw to plate in replay, excellent. A.J. is a s.o.b. on the field and in regular life, but one he is tough catcher and competitor. Good move [...]
