Jeeze Mike T. You may need to add some more fiber to your diet. Maybe a little prune juice with breakfast?

Burnett: For some reason I think Burnett will work for the Yanks. Is he a risk? DEFINITELY. But that was my point. The Yanks need to continue to take some risks. The Yanks have much more money than good starters and prospects.

Maybin: They would need to get more back than just Maybin if Cano was in the deal. I love Matt Cain, I’ve been posting about Cano-for-Cain for a while now. But, they’re going to need to be creative when it comes to CF. With more free agent starters available than good options in Center Field…Cano may need to be parlayed into a center fielder.

Peavy: You’re wrong about this one. Peavy WANTS TO WIN. That’s the reason why he will waive his no trade clause. He was pissed that San Diego didn’t add more talent last year, and with the Pads owner not wanting to part with his cash in the midst of his divorce…it doesn’t look like they’re going to do much this offseason either. It’s been rumored that Peavy wants to see how/if they improve the club prior to him making a decision. If they don’t do anything…he’ll waive his no trade to go to Atlanta or Milwaukee…or St. Louis. But, I’m not sure he’d be a good fit with the Yankees anyway.

Tex: Six years at $18mill per is what I was thinking as a starting point. It will take more than that to get him. They’ll need to open their wallet on this guy. Or should they just pencil Juan Miranda in a first? I heard he’s as good as Melky. Maybe bring Giambi back? Hmmm….Posada might be a good option. I heard he played first base once in a celebrity softball game. Justin Christian might not be a bad option. The fans will love hearing his name announced at the starting firstbaseman in the the first game at the New Yankee Stadium.

The mentality from last year’s offseason resulted in…well….you know. This year, with some contracts expiring…they NEED TO SPEND. They can’t balk at overspending on Tex or Sabathia because….they don’t have many options! They won’t repeat the Johan Santana mistake. They’re not going to open the New Yankee Stadium without making some major moves to improve this club.
