I don’t think the NYY should go after Ramirez either, but there is one thing I will say. If we acquired him he would not fall prey to the “can’t consistently produce in the clutch” syndrome of last superstar we signed – A-Rod.
Manny does not know how NOT to produce in the clutch. He carried the Dodgers on his back pretty far this year.
Of course, he is club house and manager and coaching staff poison, and not near the fielder A-Rod is.
It is probably best for us if he stays in the National League, but since the DH option would not be there I don’t think a NL team would sign him for a long term contract.
