Great points, Mike. TV is literally changing the game for the post season. When is MLB going to put its greed behind the integrity of the game? Answer… Never. Tonight’s game is very interesting from a manager’s strategy point of view. Should they use starters? Do they go lefty/lefty… righty/righty [...]

Let’s see if Fox can cram so many commercials into tonight’s broadcast that a game starting in the sixth inning will still not be over until 11:45pm. There are two East Coast teams playing, only about 262 people on the entire West Coast are watching anyway, the FOX controlled game start times are just dumb.

Selig did the right thing. You can’t let a post-season series be decided by a rain out. The problem is the start times and the ridiculously late start of the post-season. Apparently Fox wanted the series to start mid-week which leads to even later calendar day starts. Add in the ridiculous staggering [...]

I just read an article by Jeff Passan on Yahoo Sports while trying to imagine a warm, sunny day.
He writes that the World Series is “insalvageable.” Mostly due to, in part, Baseball’s long term deal with Fox because Fox insists on later start times. He also was critical of Selig’s decision [...]

I guess this World Series will be forever remembered as “the one with the suspended game.”
As far as Maybin goes, I’d be willing to take a chance on him because he’s young and still developing, but Cano straight up is too much. Cano is further along in his development (despite last season). [...]

Jeeze Mike T. You may need to add some more fiber to your diet. Maybe a little prune juice with breakfast?
Burnett: For some reason I think Burnett will work for the Yanks. Is he a risk? DEFINITELY. But that was my point. The Yanks need to continue to take some risks. The Yanks have [...]

Burnett – No thank you. Take away his games against the Yankees and his ERA climbs from 4.07 to 4.57. If he plays for the Yankees he can’t pitch against the Yankees. Burnett is 32. I don’t want to give him a 4+ year contract when he has a history of [...]

Let me go out on a very thick reinforced limb here and say the Phils win the Series. That makes the last six series 3 and 3 for AL and NL victories.
We always take it as written in stone that the AL is better than the NL as far as number of superior teams [...]

I think it needs to be explored. In the end you’re right we don’t want someone who needs to be convinced. But sometimes – people have preconceived notions about things which really do not reflect reality. And by talking to someone, you can change people’s ideas. I would explore it, see [...]

Could the Yankees possibly grab Cameron Maybin (CF) from the Florida Marlins? I would trade Cano for him. Maybin is 21 with exceptional speed, a great arm, and power. He has a great upside.
The Marlins may trade Uggla – but they would prefer to keep him. Could the Yanks grab Uggla too? Maybe send [...]
