Yankee front office will not pick up options on Giambi and Pavano. I’m sure they timed that announcement to be buried under the election news because all of Jason and Carl’s fans would otherwise storm the gates of the Yankee offices like the torch bearing villagers in the last screen of “Frankenstein.” Just like McCain and Palin, two more bodies tossed to the curb. Life goes on.
Re: Mike G’s challenge. I think it well thought out. A little too hopeful for Gardner though, and I read Matsui, his agent, and Cashman were out for dinner together late last week. Draw your own conclusions.
