Interesting. Had a bad year last year and the White Sox are shopping him. Might be real cheap. he is owed 21M for 3 more years. Maybe the Yankees can get him by picking up the contract and throwing in a bag of balls.

You know, Nick Swisher might not be a bad 1B, CF option.

I think he will sign with the Angels. They really want him, they have deep pockets and he likes the west coast.

Interesting on Tex. Why don't you think they're getting him? Is it more that you don't think they REALLY want him or that they they'll fall short in terms of years/$$$?

Matsui/Millar give you 100rbi. Casey or Hinske can give you 70 and save you 10 - 20 at first over Giambi with much improved defense. This is an odd # year so A-Rod will have 145 RBI. I don't think they're getting Texiera, so this is just a stop gap for a year

Who replaces Giambi's 32 home runs and 96 RBIs? Who replaces Abrue's 20 home runs and 100 RBIs?

Yes, they MAY get a full season of Matsui...but he has been a much different hitter the last few years.

Casey only played in 69 games last year - with 0 homers and 17 RBIs. He did bat .322
Hinske hit 20 homers with ~60 RBI. But his average, OBP, and strikeouts were not good.
Millar had pretty much the same numbers as Hinske.

I understand it's your guess of what they'll do, but I certainly hope you're not right.

True. But the Yankees transformation is going to take 2 years. I don't think they want to trade away talent and may wait a year for a better crop of free agents.

Nice roster. But, as evidenced by my submission, I think they're going to make bigger changes. Hinske/Casey/Millar aren't going to change the complexion of that lineup. It will certainly be interesting.
