Pavano II
by RussI am not a supporter of a move toward AJ Burnett. As correctly pointed out by Mike, he’s injury prone. But also, if you take out his stats against the Yankees, his numbers aren’t overly impressive and he’s no spring chicken anymore. So, I don’t understand what the big appeal is or what the rush is to sign this guy. He’s going to want what… $13 million per year and another 3-4 years. Save the money, I know that Yanks are skittish about giving young pitchers too much responsibility , but I still feel you can achieve the type of numbers you’ll get from Brunett out of someone else (or come close).  It’s not worth the money he’s going to cost.
I counsel patience.
