Mussina and the HOF
by Mike GAs I’m sure all of you would have guessed, I vote yes. The Wall Street Journal article (Joe’s post) points out many of the reasons why, but I also like this article. I won’t list all my reasons here, both articles do a pretty good job of listing accomplishments. But I will point out this fact (which is mentioned in one of the articles) to think about when you consider his numbers… Mussina pitched his entire career in the AL East during a time period with an unbalanced schedule, where the Yankees won six pennants and four World Series (before he was there), while the Red Sox won two titles and the Blue Jays won two. Also consider that this was the steroid era, and Mussina clearly wasn’t juiced.
