Thanks Russ.

To expound a bit more…the thing that worries me if they sign him is that…we ALREADY KNOW…he doesn’t REALLY want to be a Yankee. I mean…come on now…

Len and I watched the Tino Martinez Yankeeography and when Tino heard the Mariners were going to trade him to the Yanks…and his agent had to work out a contract extension…Tino said something to the effect of, “Don’t screw this up. Just take whatever they offer.” lol.

And of course their was Paul O’Neill telling his agent, “Just get it done.” lol.

Sabathia PREFERS California. His family is there, his friends, it’s his home…  And, you know what? That’s fine! I have respect for that.

That’s not to say he doesn’t like the Yankees or New York…he just prefers to be home. He didn’t DREAM about being a Yankee…like most people who post on this site probably did.

It’s said that two things are certain in life: Death and Taxes, right? Well, I believe there are three: Death, Taxes, and that Money doesn’t Guarantee Happiness. But, it certainly makes things easier!

If The Union, his agent, et al pressure him to come to New York…he may not be happy…even if he’s the most highly paid pitcher in the history of the game playing for the most storied franchise in all of sports.

I mean, he didn’t WANT to be in Milwaukee…but he played his butt off because 1) He knew it was only for the remainder of the season. And 2) If he pitched well enough he’d be able to lock himself up a nice deal with a Cali team.

Being locked-up for 6 years in the New York pressure cooker may not yield the same results that Brewers fans enjoyed.

If John B was a big left-hander (I am a left hander, but I’m more C&C Cola than CC Sabathia), I would say it just like Tino….”Don’t screw this up.”
