The Yankee’s always get their…err…man
by John BIn the wake of recent news that “Sabathia wants to be a Dodger”, the Yankees quickly executed “Plan B.” Baseball executives, fans, and the press have hypothesized on the details of the mysterious “Plan B.”
Plan B is a mystery no more….
At approximately 9:05PM EST, the New York Yankees aquired a new minor league affiliate: the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman:
“It’s true, We bought the L.A. Dodgers. It was part of a very careful process. We surmised from the start that C.C. was too soft to become a Yankee; too soft to play in the greatest city on the planet. We knew he would leave the money on the table. Why the hell did you think we jumped out of the box with an offer of $140 Million??? You “Baseball Analysts” must think I’m stupid. C.C. signed with Los Angeles for $115 Million. So, the way I look at it…we saved $25 million on that individual player. And…in the process…I love that word…process process process….we solved our problem in center and in right field. Ethier and Kemp MAY be manning those positions in 2009. Russell Martin will share time with Jorge behind the plate, unless I decide to trade him. Clayton Kershaw and Chamberlain should be an awesome 1-2 punch in the next year or two. Â
As for C.C., I am in discussions with Cleveland’s GM….I’m gonna ship him and Kemp to the Indians for Sizemore.Â
Basically, this was a quick way to bolster our farm system, improve our already stellar business model, print more money, AND…..well…..help C.C. to understand how we do things in New York. It’s all part of a process. I wonder if Cleveland will give C.C. his old number back? Ehh…not my problem to process.”  Â
