If the Red Sox sign Texeria – the Yankees will sign Manny.  I just see them doing that. 

I will point out that for the last few years we have collectively “lamented” the fact that we have no role players.  We have alot of guys with flashy stats but nothing to show for it.  Cameron does strike out alot, so does Swisher.  With Swisher, there’s more potential than Cameron.  Cameron is what he is at this point.  Swisher serves a role – he can be our “Ryan Church” who when healthy has performed well for the Mets.  Cameron serves a role.  He’s not going to be on your fantasy team, but he is useful. I agree with Damon and Matsui.  But, Damon can still play offensively he’s productive at the top of the lineup doing what he does.  Matsui, I’m not sure what to make of him now.  He’s got alot to prove.  With another pitching move to make, I feel the team is shaping up – but I know how things operate here and if Texeria is signed by the Red Sox, the Yankees will feel compelled to answer.  The only comparable answer at that point is Manny.
