Mike is right.  Back when Pettitte went to Houston, I was squarely behind him and being disrespected by the Yankees.  And in retrospect, the Yankees could have used Pettitte big time in 2004-2006.  Andy received a very generous contract last season and even under his own admission, under-achieved or performed.  The Yankees are not “lowballing” him by any means.  $10 mill is a very fair deal for someone who has meant alot to this team.  Mike’s comments are right on target regarding the whole steroids mess last winter.  Andy, I’m with you all the way, but keep in mind now that Steinbrenner has faded into the background, you’ve been treated with nothing but respect.  Please… take the offer and pitch in new Yankee Stadium.  The Yankees can, and will move on and I won’t be able to say a single word about it… because they’d be right.

Only a few more shopping days to Christmas and only a couple of more items for the Yankees to pick up.  Mike Cameron… they need to finish up that deal.  I’m not sure what exactly all the excitement is about but I can see that the Yankees want a veteran guy out there that can go get the ball.  There’s always a big item left and that’s the “big bat.”  I wonder how the Texeria thing plays out.  It seems like they are going for him first, knowing that Manny will be there in the end.  The Red Sox do not have such a luxury.  Manny won’t be there for them, I can’t see them re-signing Manny under any circumstance.
