I’m not sure if this is the case, but maybe the Yankees’ goal this off season was to fill either first base or centerfield.  It certainly seems like there’s a logjam out there, but this free agency period is going to last longer than the typical year.  Which means we will still see some trades and teams fill their needs closer and closer to spring training.  I really feel the Yanks have to unload someone and it’s either going to be Swisher or Nady (unless Melky gets packaged) because Damon hits leadoff and I think the Yanks feel that Matsui can still hit. 

As far as the rotation goes, another pitcher would be nice but I don’t think it’s essential.
