Andy (or his agent) should have read the Roundtable.  We can read which direction the wind is blowing.  Andy….  you read this one all wrong.  Not only is it a “down” market, he’s past his prime (no longer in Sabathia or Burnett’s class) and he’s coming off a bad second half.  Having a bad second half at Andy’s age fosters doubts about “losing it.”  If Andy had a strong second half, then it might be a little different.  Here’s the other thing that they read incorrectly: The Yankees missed the playoffs.  All bets are off.  Sorry, Andy.  I will always regard your service with respect.  He was a good pitcher for us.

On the outfield situation, someone has to get shipped out.  I’ve been saying this for weeks.  If it’s for a veteran journeyman pitcher, so be it.  Having said that, despite the awkwardness of how the roster currently stands (too many outfielders, no legit CF, maybe one starter short) I like the position the team is in.  They can deal from strength not from desperation.
