Disappointed.  Yes, I am that Joe would write a book at this time when he is still managing.  I understand that what Joe said has been interpreted by the various writers of the articles.  But what goes on in the clubhouse should stay there.  Remember Jim Bouton’s book “Ball Four,” which landed Jim on the scrap heap and still after 40 years has not been forgotten.

I like Joe and believed then as I do now that he was the very best at managing people and the press.  He was a good, not a great field manager, but with the talent he had he was able to have a great first half on his twelve year Yankee career.  When the talent changed, especially in the ego and team concept departments the results changed.  I believe the A-Fraud label, but that is something that has never been made public by any current or former Yankee who played with A-Rod in the past five years.  Now the manager comes out with this comment.

Sorry Joe, your legacy has been forever tarnished.  I believed that you were above the fray, but I was wrong.  Your ego and desire for money is noted.Â
